Fighting Family Lineage Extinction? We Are Not alone!

Most People Around The World Are Fighting Family Lineage Extinction.  Could Others at Risk Do The Same?

It was early in the morning and the sun was still deciding whether to let the clouds blanket itself longer.   I got closer to the window, as I like to do every day right before my yoga practice.  My eyes searched the backyard for the usual morning activity:  the birds, some flying around, others on the ground eating the seeds fallen from the bird feeder.  The birds on the bird feeder enjoying the morning feast and then taking a bath in the water bowl I place daily for them.  The birds Spilling some water to the squirrels waiting for their turn to drink from the same bowl.

But this morning, there was a stillness, a quietness in the backyard that got to my bones.  No one bird around, none on the trees, not even the squirrels.

I waited.

I searched the sky and the nearby trees.  Nothing.

Concern thoughts crossed my mind.  Was the bird feeder somehow contaminated, and the birds has suffered the consequences?  Did another wild animal had scared them away?  And for how long?

A sense of sadness invaded my body.  The backyard did not look the same.  The patio seemed lifeless.

It probably did not appear as bad on a nice summer day with the plants flourishing and the bees and butterflies pollinating them.  But it was the beginning of spring and although there were some leaves hanging from the plants… there was nothing else.

I waited.

I gave my mind a break, turning myself entirely to my yoga practice.

At the end of it, I looked through the window once again.  The seeds were untouched.  My wild companions absent.  No, that cannot be.  I thought.

And I remembered how,  months ago, I had a dream about a bird who had felt something similar when he had realized some other birds had gone extinct.  A dream that was so vivid, so real that made me write the story series, MORNIN, THE SUPER BIRD   Available now in Amazon,  paperback and digital formats.

Was this a reminder? Of how important it is to not only provide seeds to these wild birds, to help them survive , but to plant the seeds and spread them in the world, in the minds of hearts of kids, teens, adults and seniors, so through daily acts make the protection of the species, of the planet a reality.

A reminder to take baby steps but constant ones to make the difference. To be an example for others to follow, to go beyond the “yeah, I saw that, the yeah I believe that” and start the “I am doing this, I am doing that to protect the planet we live in”. “I am making a difference, I am teaching my kids, I am taking action with my families…”

There are steps we could take, and once we start even with the small ones, we are ready to run marathons of protection that could go as far as our hearts and imagination want.

So today, in this spring day, when we are following the #StayHome mandate to protect our family’s lineage from extinction, I invite you all to start taking the steps needed to save the fauna and flora of our planet from extinction, by creating a conscience in the new generations:   The same way kids are now born with an electronic device,  put in their DNA to be gentle with the planet. Let’s pick up that trash we brought with us to the beach or to the park,  help others do the same.  Even pick up after others if needed. Set an example for the children to follow.

Let’s read to our children, and invite other kids to read, MORNIN THE SUPER BIRD book series, so we all join this new super hero in his quest to save the flora and fauna of our planet.

As for the birds, in my backyard…  I will tell you all about it, when you write back to me with your stories of how you are contributing to make this planet a better place to live, so we have a healthier life in return.
